Free iPhone Porn Site gets 45k Users in a Month to Sign Up

Adult site iPorn has signed up more than 45,000 registered users since launching during Apple's WWDC conference last month.

The site offers a mixture of streaming videos and social networking features, and appears to be benefitting from Apple's stringent content restrictions on its App Store.

Because iPorn is a website rather than an app, it can't be banned, unlike the Hottest Girls app that was removed from the App Store last week after making topless photos available.

"It was widely reported that Apple stated that the developers of 'The Hottest Girls' iPhone application added x-rated content directly from their server after the application had been approved and distributed through the iTunes App Store," says iPorn in a statement.

"In contrast, the makers of the iPorn web application never sought to deceive Apple. Instead iPorn was developed as a web application that can be obtained by users over the age of 18 through their iPhone web browser for free without having to purchase it through Apple's iTunes App store, and bypasses Apple's ability to censor content from the iPhone."

iPorn says it's now working on versions for BlackBerry, Palm Pre and Android handsets, which will be released later this year.
